Lara Lucano - ballet teacher


Lara trained at the Susan Robinson School of Ballet from the age of 4 years studying ballet, tap, modern and jazz. At the age of 10, she won the South East Final of the RAD Fonteyn Nureyev Ballet Competition and had the opportunity to dance with the Bolshoi Ballet at the Royal Opera House and the London Coliseum and also with the Northern Ballet. Lara enjoyed numerous successes at festivals and at age 15 was awarded Young Dancer of the Year Runner Up at the All England Dance Finals in London. Before leaving SRSOB, Lara gained her RAD Advanced 2 Ballet with Distinction. At 15, Lara won a scholarship to Millennium Performing Arts in London. During her time at MPA, Lara was awarded ‘Best All Round Performer’ and the ‘Jazz Award.’ She was chosen as Dance Captain / Assistant Choreographer for a production of Cinderella at the Ickenham Theatre. She was also selected to perform at the London Palladium in a charity gala performance of 42nd Street. Lara was one of the students selected to work with Choreographer Stephen Mear CBE on some of his new choreography. Lara successfully completed the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies Teacher Training Course via distance learning and at the RAD HQ in Battersea, London. Lara is delighted to now work at SRSOB as a fully qualified ballet teacher.
